3 Hattrio

Saturday 7th September

7:30 pm

West Kilbride Village Hall

“American desert music,” a simple idea for a complex sound. The music 3hattrio are making sounds more like extended landscapes of sound, bare mesas that ring with electronic echoes of acoustic instruments, twisting and turning as the wind shifts. 3hattrio mix the routine with the unusual, fusing American folk music with outsider elements like auto tune, psychedelia, and minimalism. It’s a wildly unusual sound, but the product of three very different musicians coming together to form something new.

Letitia VanSant Duo - plus David Leask

Saturday 21st September

West Kilbride Village Hall

Since releasing her debut album in Europe, the powerfully impressive singer-song-writer has won a legion of new fans…and many glowing reviews.

Writing at AmericanaUK, Paul Kerr said she was “wonderful - a great songwriter with a glorious voice,” and at Folk Radio UK, writer Mike Davies delivered more praise, calling her “terrific.”

Here, she makes her UK debut in duo format with her band’s guitarist David McKindley-Ward, a long-standing collaborator, who also doubles up on vocal harmonies.

These shows will be opened by the outstanding Scots-born and now Canadian singer-songwriter David Leask whose last CD made a big impact when it was released on this side of the Atlantic. Maverick magazine told readers: “The songs are superbly crafted.
